Keeping Hope Alive is a registered not-for-profit organization with current activities spanning the United Kingdom, United States of America and Sierra Leone with plans to expand to other countries. Our Mission is to empower marginalized girls and women alongside protecting the environment through sustainable Agroforestry.

 

The organization came into being after the Founder (Ms Neneh Tunis) witnessed abject poverty in Africa during a visit in 2016. Furthermore, on a global level, females as human capital are undervalued and underutilised despite being a key element to the achievement of economic, social, and environmental pillars of sustainable development. ​

 

Therefore, whilst our developmental projects are/will not wholly be gender specific; Keeping Hope Alive believes that when one woman is helped out of poverty, she brings her family and community with her. ​

 

We accomplish this mission through donor funding which benefits thousands of community members. However, we have plans to engage in entrepreneurship for the purpose of sustaining our developmental projects which will, at the same time provide employment for beneficiaries.

 

Ultimately, empowerment translates into sustained living and a donor-free environment.
